New Blood Bank for Southern Province

The new Blood Bank at Karapitiya Hospital was opened on 14 July 2008 and has been a great success. It supplies blood and blood products to Southern Province Hospitals. There was an opening ceremony attended by Mrs Balasuriya, the Governor of the Southern Province.

Blood is collected, processed, stored and issued in a safe way at a clean and well equipped Blood Bank. It is now one of the best in the country.
